    SPR is looking for a highly motivated, hands-on, creative thinker with outstanding ability to create and enhance client-facing proposals, presentations, and other written/visual communications. You will work collaboratively with pursuit teams (including our sales and technical experts) to develop business and technical messaging that resonates with our clients and prospects. Your efforts impact the team’s ability to win business opportunities and continue to grow established accounts.


    As SPR’s Marketing Strategist-Proposals you’ll ensure that each deliverable is compelling, tailored to each client’s needs, and aligned to our sales/marketing strategies, while maintaining an eye for branding quality and messaging guidelines. This role is both creative and operational and requires someone with talent for clear and convincing written language, organization skills, and an eye for design and visual storytelling.


    You’ll be a member of the Marketing department and will report to the VP of Marketing. Our team functions as an internal agency – providing exceptional customer service, quality, consistency and results to our colleagues.  This position interfaces with several internal stakeholders across our sales and technical teams and requires strong leadership and project management / time management skills.




    • Manages and enhances written and visual proposals from inception to completion for new business development and to cross-sell services to established customers, including suggesting new content and editing existing content
    • Creates, edits, and graphically enhances presentation documents for client use and for conferences, ensuring materials are clear and convincing for sales/decision-making purposes and meet branding guidelines and messaging standards
    • Ensures documents conform to SPR writing style with grammatical and typographical accuracy
    • Develops internal processes for requesting document support and creates and maintains corporate templates (letterhead, PowerPoints, proposals)
    • Maintains a repository of past proposals including client examples for future use and suggests when content may be repurposable / adaptable for future opportunities
    • Forges strong internal relationships with key stakeholders in Delivery, Marketing, Engagement Managers and Business Development and interviews company executives to aggregate perspectives into compelling and competitive language and messaging
    • Comprehends, analyzes, and interprets complex business documents and suggests new ways of presenting materials to strengthen messaging and ensure SPR’s differentiators are communicated effectively across all assets




    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and 5+ years of marketing, journalism, English, or sales writing experience. B2B sales/marketing experience preferred but not required.


    • Must be detail oriented, organized, and a strategic thinker.
    • Experience with industry best practices in proposal management and development preferred
    • Technical writing experience in technology preferred but not required
    • Ability to multi-task, such as: formatting documents, proofing and editing, researching (using experts within the company to develop content).
    • High level expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
    • Ability to create clear, convincing messages (written and graphic) with outstanding command of English grammar rules, applications, and word usage.
    • Exceptional persuasive writing ability.
    • Excellent communication, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to lead and contribute in a team environment.
    • Ability to work in a hectic, fast-paced environment and handle deadlines and frequent interruptions.
